Donald Cerrone vs. Eddie Alvarez full fight video highlights: UFC 178

In case you missed it live!

It took a while but Eddie Alvarez finally made his Octagon debut in the co-main event of last night's (Sat., Sept. 27, 2014) UFC 178: "Johnson vs. Cariaso" pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The problem, of course, was that he ran into Donald Cerrone, who weathered an early storm to punch, knee, and kick his way to a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28), his fifth win in as many fights. As disappointing as the former Bellator champion looked, "Cowboy" was also off his game, at least initially. He struggled mightily to make it through an opening round that very likely should have saw him finished off. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades, however, and Cerrone's rousing comeback was good for another "W" in a tough lightweight division that will need another top contender soon. Will he be the one? Stay tuned. For a complete recap on Cerrone's win click here, and for UFC 178 results and blow-by-blow coverage of all the night's action click here.
