UFC 178: "Johnson vs. Cariaso" from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
This time around, Dominick Cruz and Conor McGregor were awarded "Performance of the Night" bonuses for their respective knockout victories over Takeya Mizugaki and Dustin Poirier.
The "Fight of the Night" was the hugely controversial Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero middleweight mash up that saw the latter score a second round stoppage victory over the former after an issue over how long it took Romero to get off his stool between rounds.
An extra $50,000 should help cushion Kennedy's blow, no?
Here are the special UFC 178 bonuses:
Performance of the Night -- Dominick Cruz
Performance of the Night -- Conor McGregor
Fight of the Night -- Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
