Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson is currently suspended from the word's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion after reports surfaced that "Rumble" was on the wrong end of a criminal complaint filed by the mother of his children.
Today, it was learned that Johnson was involved in yet another domestic disturbance on March 19, 2014, according to MMA Junkie, but it was with a different female.
Here's the scoop:
The woman told police then that Johnson had showed up unannounced at Park’s Taekwondo on 15 separate occasions in the three months she had worked there, even though their sexual relationship ended in 2012.... The woman said Johnson knew she was working alone March 19. She said he demanded to speak with her, grabbed her shirt behind the neck, lifted her up from the chair by her shirt and grabbed her right arm. She showed the investigator "bruising on her right forearm and a reddish scratch mark near her right collarbone." She told police she asked Johnson to leave several times, but he did not until police arrived.
When asked about the woman's allegations, Johnson texted, 'Um no never.' Asked why she would report the incident, he wrote: 'No idea, and I don't believe she said that cuz we talk everyday and great friends.'
Johnson had a dust up with the law during his first run with UFC (back in his Welterweight days), and was eventually sentenced to three years probation and forced to undergo domestic violence counseling after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges back in 2009.
It appeared to be an isolated incident.
Then came last week's report (see it here), indicating that Johnson, in fact, had a second incident in 2012, one that left the alleged victim missing her two front teeth. She recently called the police and filed a police report alleging that, "she is receiving threats which she believes are coming from Johnson's friends."
Johnson vehemently denies any wrongdoing and vows to prove he is innocent. This latest report, even though no charges were filed to date, certainly doesn't help his position.
