Wanderlei Silva erupts, declares war on 'sons of bitches' at NSAC following lifetime ban from UFC/MMA

Esther Lin

You know that guy, Wanderlei Silva, who is always happy and smiling with his fans, talking about how great life is?

I regret to inform you that he has been killed and eaten by "The Axe Murderer."

The man who struck fear into the entire PRIDE FC roster has recently declared war on Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), blowing a gasket on Twitter after learning that combat sports' most influential sanctioning body slapped him with a $70,000 fine and straight-up banned him from competing in mixed martial arts (MMA) in Nevada.

And what's good for "The Silver State" is usually good for the rest of the country.

Even if Silva tried to un-retire from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), no other stateside commission would license him. That means he would have to ply his trade overseas but again, Dana White and Co. would not go behind the regulator's back and his fight contract has likely been frozen.

Silva's attorney, Ross Goodman, compared the proceedings to a "kangaroo court" and promised to appeal the ruling to district court within 30 days.

Even so, it doesn't sound like the Brazilian is going away quietly after unloading on Twitter (translated by MMA Fighting), promising that NSAC -- and perhaps anyone else willing to "take him down" -- will soon find out who's really in charge.

"Those who are trying to take me down, come get it. War is just beginning, sons of bitches. They will see that we're the ones who run this shit, bunch of playboys."

Be afraid.
