Jordan Mein claims that his key to victory last night (Sat., Aug. 23, 2014) against Mike Pyle in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 49, which took place at BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., was staying "focused" on the task at hand.
That must have been a Herculean effort no thanks to his father, James Lee Mein, who just one day earlier was arrested at the weigh-in event (read full details here), and was subsequently banned from cornering his son, because he was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery on a hotel housekeeper.
In fact, the younger Mein needed just 72 seconds to wipe the floor with the resurgent mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran, connecting flush with a devastating left hook that set up a very impressive technical knockout finish.
And earned him an extra $50,000 in the process.
That's now two consecutive wins for Mein, who has won five of his last six appearances, the only hiccup during that span a loss to top Welterweight contender, Matt Brown.
Impressive stuff.
