'War Machine' attorney responds to media criticism, claims he is no 'monster' and 'didn't do anything illegal' to Christy Mack

Is this all just one big, horrific misunderstanding?

Jon Koppenhaver, a.k.a. "War Machine," is guiltier than a love child conceived by O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony in the court of public opinion after his alleged aggravated attack on ex-girlfriend Christy Mack (read her side of the sordid story here) and her former lover, VH-1 "reality star" Corey Thomas.

In a real, United States legal court room? Innocent until proven guilty.

"War Machine" has gotten a bad wrap so far because of a history of violence outside mixed martial arts (MMA). In addition, he was reportedly captured (read details here) when he got into another domestic dust up with an unnamed female that ultimately led to his capture while on the run from seven arrest warrants, "Dog The Bounty Hunter" and a crew of U.S. Marshals.

Not a good look.

That's the reason his legal counsel, Brandon Sua, recently issued a brief statement (via KTLA.com), claiming that his client didn't do "anything illegal."

"The hardest thing for my client is seeing the responses from the media, the public. There’s been a lot of statements on one side... The media has done a good job of painting my client as a monster, but my client is not a monster. He is a good guy."

Was "War Machine" really "fighting for his life" inside Mack's apartment like he claimed on social media days after the incident? That's clearly up for a Las Vegas, Nevada, jury of his peers to decide once "War Machine" is arraigned in "Sin City" and enters a plea of (not) guilty.

Meanwhile, Mack continues to recover from her injuries, which included a lacerated liver, a broken face and a near clean out of all her teeth, among other awful damage. And that doesn't even include the mental torture and sexual abuse that she allegedly had to endure (read copy of official police report here) in what could only be described as a frightening living nightmare.

It sure sounds monstrous. Godzilla-like.
