Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion, Jon Jones, took to his Instagram account to announce that he underwent successful surgery yesterday (Thurs., Aug. 14, 2014) to repair a bum knee.
Check it out:
That beard tho!
"Bones" had to go under the knife after a sparring session with "The Reem" down at Jackson-Winkeljon Mixed Martial Arts resulted in a torn meniscus.
No, it wasn't intentional, it was accident, according to head trainer, Greg Jackson.
As a result of the surgery, Jon's title fight against Daniel Cormier, which was set to go down this September at UFC 178, has now been pushed back to Jan. 3, 2015 to serve as headliner for UFC 182.
Much to the dismay of this guy.
I'm just surprised that conspiracy theorists haven't blamed this brawl for the injury, and claimed that fighter, trainer and promotion are in cahoots to cover it all up to avoid a public relation's nightmare.
