The official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings have been updated following UFC on FOX 12 event (results) last Saturday night (July 26, 2014), which took place inside SAP Center in San Jose, California. As far as Robbie Lawler is concerned, he was already No. 1 at 170 pounds, so there's no place to go but another Welterweight title fight.
Surprisingly, reborn Light Heavyweight slugger Anthony Johnson didn't improve his position over the weekend after stiffening Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (watch it). Elsewhere on the card, Dennis Bermudez won his seventh straight at the expense of the free-falling Featherweight Clay Guida, giving him some much-desired attention and a boost in the rankings.
Josh Thomson stumbled against Lightweight replacement Bobby Green thanks to a controversial split decision loss, dropping him a few notches, while "King'" elevated his stock by jumping up an impressive six spots in the 155-pound pecking order (watch video highlights here).

Are any of you disappointed "Rumble" didn't move up at least one spot ahead of the idle Glover Teixeira despite starching "Lil Nog'" in less than one minute? After all, Nogueira -- who wasn't ranked last week because of inactivity -- managed to sneak in to the No. 14 spot at 205 pounds following the brutal loss.
Puzzling.
You can expect these numbers to change in just a few short weeks thanks to UFC Fight Night 47 on FOX Sports 1, which features several significant bouts in several prominent divisions, including Ryan Bader vs. Ovince St. Preux (Light Heavyweight) and Sara McMann vs. Lauren Murphy (women's Bantamweight).
