After a tumultuous last run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Anthony Johnson worked his way back to the promotion with a string of impressive victories. When he returned, he ran through Phil Davis to firmly establish himself in the light heavyweight division.
Tonight (Sat., July 26, 2014) at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, in the co-main event of UFC on Fox 12: "Lawler vs. Brown," Johnson was back inside the Octagon slinging leather at Antonio Rogerio Nogueira's head hoping to keep his momentum.
He did just that.
And it didn't take long, just 44 seconds.
The two met in the center of the cage and started exchanging punches. Johnson connected clean with a hard shot, then another, then another. Nogueira ended up backed up against the fence and "Rumble" teed off from there, blasting away with hard uppercuts that downed the Brazilian.
Finally, referee Herb Dean stepped in and stopped it.
Welp.
