Dana White: Gina Carano should fight Ronda Rousey because 'Conviction' did 'damn good job' against 'jacked up' Cris Cyborg

Makes perfect sense.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White has doggedly pursued former Strikeforce attraction and current Hollywood actress Gina Carano, in an attempt to book her against reigning UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

This, despite the fact that "Conviction" is coming off a loss and has not competed since 2009.

Cristiane Justino, meanwhile, has been brushed aside by the Las Vegas fight boss, despite cries from the mixed martial arts (MMA) universe to pit "Cyborg" against "Rowdy" in what has been described as a female "super fight," as the Brazilian hasn't lost in over nine years and has 10 knockouts to her name.

One of them belonging to Carano.

So why would Gina get the nod? Well, according to White during the UFC Dublin media scrum (watch it), Carano did "damn good" against Justino when they fought under the Strikeforce banner in the Showtime main event from San Jose, Calif., against a fighter who was "jacked up on Mountain Dew."

"Cyborg" failed a drug test back in 2011 and White continues to dog her for it, while simultaneously pushing for a Vitor Belfort title fight, despite the fact that "The Phenom" has failed multiple drug tests.

Rousey has been open to fighting Justino, but has been more vocal about facing Carano, who she credits for getting her into the fight game. "Rowdy" would also consider a return to featherweight if "Conviction" -- who struggled to make weight in the past -- needs to be afforded such provisions.

First, she has to sign on the dotted line, if she can make White's tentative date of December 2014.

Stay tuned.
