Chael Sonnen is still employed.
He may no longer be working for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) -- or the FOX network -- but the embattled mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran still has a job with Metamoris, the west coast jiu-jitsu promotion that pegged him as event headliner for later this summer (details).
And according to officials, Sonnen will definitely be tested.
"@T_RAV_4real: @MetamorisPro is Sonnen still on the card?" Yes. The only test he should be concerned about is the test of his technique.

@WhiteBeltBJJ FYI he hasn't been fired from Metamoris. We will be testing his technique.

Sonnen will be "tested" by Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Andre Galvao.
"The American Gangster" has been making headlines in recent weeks after testing positive for a witches' brew of banned substances, courtesy of Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). After he was bounced from UFC 175, Sonnen retired from active competition and settled into his role as FOX Sports analyst.
Nevertheless, the former middleweight number one contender should have no trouble finding work after the smoke clears, since he's done an admirable job of building his own personal brand over the last several years, and upsetting Galvao on Aug. 9 in Los Angeles would certainly be a good jumping off point.
