UFC Fight Night 42: "Henderson vs. Khabilov" from Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 20 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
Errrr... pump the brakes. This is where I remind you the bonus structure has changed. "Fight of the Night" will still be awarded but the best knockout and submission will not earn any extra cash. Instead, there will be two "Performance of the Night" awards dished out.
Got it? Good.
This time around, Ben Henderson's submission of Rustam Khabilov in the main event earned him a performance bonus while Piotr Hallman's submission of Yves Edwards earlier in the night earned him a performance bonus as well. "Fight of the Night" went to super fun Scott Jorgensen vs. Danny Martinez scrap on the preliminary card.
Here are the special UFC Fight Night 42 bonuses:
Performance of the Night -- Ben Henderson
Performance of the Night -- Piotr Hallman
Fight of the Night -- Scott Jorgensen vs. Danny Martinez
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
