The main card of tonight's (Sat., June 7, 2014) UFC Fight Night 42: "Henderson vs. Khabilov" event at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Fox Sports 1 kicked off with a bantamweight scrap pitting Bryan Caraway against Erik Perez.
They exchanged punches early until Perez pushed forward looking for a takedown. Caraway used it to attempt a guillotine but while it looked tight, he never really had a chance at finishing. Not long after he threatened again by taking Perez's back but, once again, he couldn't score a finish.
Or anything even close to it, really.
Still, Caraway worked his grappling game into the second round to control the bout. Finally, after working hard for a rear-naked choke for a number of minutes, he put the arm under the chin and squeezed until Perez tapped.
And that's exactly what happened.
