Cub Swanson kept rolling right along in the featherweight division, pushing his consecutive win streak to six, with a unanimous decision victory over Jeremy Stephens in the main event of last night's (Sat., June 28, 2014) UFC Fight Night 44 broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. "Lil Heathen" was in control early on, scoring not one but two knockdowns within the span of the opening two frames. In the third, however, Swanson landed a liver kick that rearranged Stephens' insides, enough so that he lost all the momentum he had and never regained proper footing. On top of that, he revealed in the post-fight interview that he broke his hand in either or the first or the second round. So, really, we'll never know if a full strength Stephens could defeat a full strength Swanson. Still, this gives Cub the aforementioned six wins in a row and puts him in line to challenge for the featherweight title. Right?
