UFC delays return to Montreal until March 2015, still non-committal on location for UFC 178

Oh, Canada.

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is coming back to Montreal ... eventually.

The world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion today revealed a new date for its return to the Bell Centre in Quebec, Canada. Originally penciled in for Dec. 2014, Managing Director for UFC Operations Tom Wright informed media members at the UFC Fight Night 43 post-fight press conference (watch it) that it was now March of 2015.

Sorry 'bout that.

It could be that UFC is waiting for a big-money fight that features homegrown talent Rory MacDonald, or perhaps the return of former welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre. Heck, maybe they're shooting for both.

Either way, Canadian fans are going to have to be patient.

In addition, the UFC 178 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which was expected to go down on Sept. 27, 2014 inside Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, may also be on the move. That means the Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafson rematch will go with it, likely to Las Vegas, Nevada.
