Former PRIDE FC heavyweight attraction and youngest of the "Emperor" brothers, Aleksander Emelianenko, is in custody and facing a possible prison term of four-to-six years, after charges were levied against him that include theft and sexual assault.
"First, the court should extend Emelianenko's arrest, which ends June 30," according to the 27-year-old victim's attorney (via MMABoxing.ru). "And we will defend our position that he is a threat to society. Most likely, Emelianenko will get imprisonment from four-to-six years. We will insist on that."
Emelianenko (23-7), who is of course presumed innocent until proven guilty, was arrested last month in Tambov, Russia, for a vehicular accident that caused bodily injury.
It has been a long and rocky road for the troubled heavyweight, who was released by M-1 in late 2012 for breach of contract. He later hooked up with PRO FC and was in action as recently as last January, where he suffered a technical knockout loss to Dmitriy Sosnovskiy.
