Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Thiago Tavares will make his featherweight debut when he locks horns with Robbie Peralta at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 47 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Aug. 16, 2014, inside the 6,000 capacity Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine, on FOX Sports 1.

UFC announced the pending match up on Saturday.

Tavares (18-5-1) got back into the win column last November, locking up a rear-naked choke over Justin Salas at UFC Fight Night 32 in Brazil. It was also his first appearance since getting popped for drostanalone, which earned him a nine-month suspension following a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Water under the bridge!

Peralta (18-4), meanwhile, is riding back-to-back wins. After giving Estevan Payan all kinds of "Problems" at UFC 168, the 28-year-old Californian slipped past Rony Jason last month in Brazil. Peralta now stands at 4-1 (1 NC) under the UFC umbrella, with his only loss coming by way of scorecards against Akira Corassani.

Who ya' got?

UFC Fight Night 47 will be headlined by light heavyweight rising stars Ryan Bader and Ovince St. Preux, who battle for a spot in the 205-pound title chase. Elsewhere on the card, Tim Boetsch throws hands opposite Brad Tavares, while Shawn Jordan jumps back into the fray to collide with Jack May at the network-televised event.
