IGF 2: Mirko 'Cro Cop' vs. Satoshi Ishii booked for Aug. 23 in Japan

For a retired MMA fighter, he sure is busy.

Famed kickboxing legend Mirko Filipovic taking on a Japanese Olympic judo gold medalist?

No, this isn't a replay of PRIDE: "Critical Countdown Absolute" on Fight Pass, but rather a new match up pitting "Cro Cop" against next-gen judoka Satoshi Ishii, in a heavyweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fight under the Inoki Genome Fight (IGF) banner on Aug. 23, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.

Sherdog confirmed the match up on Sunday.

Filipovic (28-11-2, 1 NC) is facing off against Jarrell Miller this Saturday night (June 21, 2014) at the GLORY 17 kickboxing event in Inglewood, California (details), and will head back to MMA for the first time since a submission loss (neck crank) to Alexey Oleinik last November.

Just don't tell his mommy Fedor ... we don't want to start any trouble.

Ishii, meanwhile, has rattled off eight straight wins on the international circuit and hasn't tasted defeat since getting KTFO by the aforementioned "Emperor" back in 2011. The Olympian has four submission wins to his credit, but just one finish by way of knockout.

"Cro Cop vs. Ishii" will serve as the IGF 2 main event.
