UFC Quick Quote: Conor McGregor vs. Georgi Karakhanyan wouldn't even be a fair fight

It's silly, but we just can't help ourselves to pay attention to feuds with fighters in different promotions. Though to be fair, we've seen a lot worse.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

"When you guys are talking about fighters, Rick Glenn is one of the best 145'ers in the world. Conor McGregor is just a different caliber of fighter. I'm not going to talk bad about Conor or anybody, but Rick Glenn is at the top tier of the 145'ers in the world. It wouldn't be even a fair match up. It would be an unfair match up, to fight someone like Georgi Karakhanyan at this point of his career. But the guy is promoting himself, and good for him. But if I was a matchmaker, I would not match them up with Georgi at all."

According to outspoken World Series of Fighting (WSOF) executive vice president and matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz, matching Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Conor McGregor against either Georgi Karakhanyan or Rick Glenn, who duke it out in a featherweight title fight at WSOF 10 (more on that here), would simply be unfair. When MMAmania.com asked Karakhanyan about his feelings toward McGregor on the WSOF 10 media conference call, the featherweight champion played it down and said he was simply giving his opinion. He also said he'd still "bitch slap him." However, one of his bosses believes either the champion or the challenger against the Irishman would be mismatch. Anybody else feel the same way?
