Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has booked a middleweight showdown pitting hometown boy Tim Boetsch against Brad Tavares for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 47 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Aug. 16, 2014, inside the 6,000 capacity Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
Verbal agreements are in place, according to Bangor Daily News.
Boetsch (17-7) could be facing the unemployment line in defeat. "The Barbarian" is just 1-4 since the summer of 2012 and his lone "win" was a very questionable decision over C.B. Dollaway last October in Brazil. In addition, the AMC Pankration product been finished in two of those four losses.

Tavares (12-2) is not saddled with the same sense of urgency; however, the Hawaiian is likely in no big hurry to go 0-2. After racking up five straight wins, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) vet was upended in a tough decision loss to Yoel Romero last April on FOX.
