UFC Fight Night 45: Jessamyn Duke vs. Leslie Smith on tap for July 16 in Atlantic City

Two talented bantamweights. One spot in the 135-pound pecking order.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight prospect Jessamyn Duke will look to get back into the win column at the expense of struggling "Peacemaker" Leslie Smith at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 45 event on July 16, 2014, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Glendale News-Press brought word of the contest on Tuesday.

Despite a significant height and reach advantage, Duke (3-1) was outgunned by Brazilian banger Bethe Correia at the UFC 172 mixed martial arts (MMA) event last April in Baltimore, Maryland, evening her post-Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 record at 1-1.

Even though she didn't get beat.

Smith (6-5) is just 1-3 over her last four, coming up empty in her Octagon debut earlier this year in Canada. Her decision loss to Sarah Kaufman was her second straight, and starting a UFC career at 0-2 is probably not the best way to guarantee employment.

Though stopping "The Gun" would shoot her right back into the thick of things.

UFC Fight Night 45 on FOX Sports 1 and Fight Pass will be headlined by a gritty lightweight affair pitting Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone against venerable hometown hero Jim Miller, while John Howard and Rick Story hook 'em up in welterweight action.
