Tonight's (Sat., May 31, 2014) The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil 3 Finale in Sao Paulo, Brazil, broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, featured the crowning of the next two Ultimate Fighter winners from the latest season of the long running reality television show.
At middleweight, Warlley Alves submitted Marco Alexandre Junior via guillotine in the third round of a hard fought battle giving Team Chael Sonnen a champion for the season. Before the submission, Alves was on his way to victory but he capped it off with an impressive finish to put an exclamation point on the proceedings.
Now about how quickly Junior went to sleep on that submission...
Vitor Miranda vs. Antonio Carlos Jr was the heavyweight final -- though neither fighter is likely long for the division if they stick around in the UFC -- with Miranda representing Team Sonnen and Carlos attempting to give Wanderlei Silva something, anything to smile about.
He did just that.
Carlos Jr. showcased a wide variety of skills, winning standing exchanges while also scoring takedowns and controlling the bout on the floor. Considering his age and relative inexperience, there's reason to be excited about the future.
Expect UFC President Dana White to push a weight change in between effusive praise for his newest Ultimate Fighter.
