It would save me a lot of typing if these guys could get on the same page.
Wanderlei Silva is done with UFC!
No he's not!
Vitor Belfort is fighting as a light heavyweight at UFC 175!
No he's not!
Chael Sonnen is fighting for the middleweight title with a win over "The Phenom!"
No he's not!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White has informed MMA Fighting that Chael Sonnen will, in fact, be fighting Vitor Belfort at middleweight, assuming the Brazilian can get licensed for the upcoming UFC 175 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas, Nevada (more on that here).
"I don't fight at 185 and I don't fight at 205," Sonnen told MMA Fighting about the switch. "I fight at gangster weight."
And if "The Phenom" wins, he gets to fight the winner of Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida -- who also compete at UFC 175 -- later this year. That reward, however, is reserved for the Brazilian only, winner of three straight (with three knockouts) and does not extend to "The American Gangster."
Though defeating Belfort would certainly get him closer to the title, something that has eluded him in a pair of previous appearances against Anderson Silva.
