UFC 173 bonuses: TJ Dillashaw wins $100K for knocking out Renan Barao

Mo money, mo problems...

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

UFC 173: "Barao vs. Dillashaw" from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 24 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.

Errrr... pump the brakes. This is where I remind you the bonus structure has changed. "Fight of the Night" will still be awarded but the best knockout and submission will not earn any extra cash. Instead, there will be two "Performance of the Night" awards dished out.

Got it? Good.

This time around, TJ Dillashaw double dipped, earning a performance bonus for his destruction of Renan Barao despite being a heavy underdog as well as "Fight of the Night" honors. Elsewhere, Mitch Clarke snagged the other performance bonus for his crazy come-from-behind submission win over Al Iaquinta on the preliminary card.

Here are the special UFC 173 bonuses:

Performance of the Night -- Mitch Clarke

Performance of the Night -- TJ Dillashaw

Fight of the Night -- TJ Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao

Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
