UFC on FOX 12: Daron Cruickshank vs. Jorge Masvidal booked for July 26 in San Jose

Streaking lightweight contender Daron Cruickshank will try to get himself into the title hunt against talented Strikeforce import Jorge Masvidal at the upcoming UFC on FOX 12 event, scheduled for the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on July 26, 2014.

FOX Sports brought word of the 155-pound pairing earlier today.

Cruickshank (15-4) has put the lightweight division on notice following a pair of sensational knockout wins. After beating the brakes off Mike Rio last January in Chicago, "The Detroit Superstar" sent Erik Koch ass over tin cups at UFC Fight Night 40 earlier this month in Cincinnati.

Watch out for those high kicks!

Masvidal (26-8) has compiled a 3-1 record since coming over from Strikeforce. He was last seen out-working Pat Healy at the UFC on FOX 11 event in Orlando and "Gamebred's" only defeat inside the Octagon came by way of decision to venerable Russian standout Rustam Khabilov.

Who ya' got?

UFC on FOX 12 is shaping up to be a stellar fight card, thanks to the addition of Anthony Johnson vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. In addition, Josh Thomson will jump back into the fray when he collides with Michael Johnson at the network-televised event.
