Glover Teixeira got stuck in a shoulder crank in the first round of his title fight against Jon Jones (watch it), which took place in the main event of UFC 172 last month (Sat., April 26, 2014) in Baltimore, Maryland, and was forced to compete for the remainder of the fight with a torn labrum.
The result was a "disfigured" shoulder.
The good news is, he won't require surgery and will likely be able to get back into fighting shape following intensive rehab.
Great news today from Doc...no surgery needed on my shoulder right now. Thank u everyone for the support!!

The bad news is, he's been booted from the 205-pound title chase.
Teixeira heads to the back of the line following his Baltimore beatdown and slipped a few places in the light heavyweight rankings (see them here). Jones, meanwhile, moves on to rematch Alexander Gustafsson later this year, possibly in Sweden.
More on that fight here.
When Teixeira does return to the cage, who would you like to see him fight?
