Urijah Faber vs Alex Caceres Bantamweight fight on tap for UFC 175 on July 5

With another world title opportunity squandered, Urijah Faber will look to get back to doing what he does best: Killing all other contenders. First up? Bruce Leeroy!

Urijah Faber will continue his road back to another 135-pound title shot when he collides with Alex Caceres at UFC 175, which will take place at Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 5, 2014.

The Bantamweight bout will be featured on the pay-per-view (PPV) main card of the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion's annual Fourth of July celebration, according to ESPN.com.

Faber finds himself back in the proverbial contender "mix" after suffering a technical knockout loss division champion Renan Barao at UFC 169 this past February. It marked the third time "California Kid" competed for UFC's Bantamweight belt and, coincidentally, his third loss inside the Octagon.

In fact, Faber, 36, has not lost a non-title fight since his World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) heyday, mowing through nine notables, but losing to three champions (Barao, Dominick Cruz and Jose Aldo) in five tries.

Caceres, meanwhile, has quietly compiled a four-fight win streak, most recently handing Sergio Pettis the first loss of his promising career at UFC on FOX 10 earlier this year with a slick submission (rear-naked choke). The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 12 alum currently sits at No. 13 in the divisional rankings, making Faber (No. 2) clearly the biggest test of the colorful 25-year-old's career.

UFC 175 will feature middleweight champion Chris Weidman defending his 185-pound strap against new division No. 1 contender Lyoto Machida in the main event. In the co-headliner, Ronda Rousey will defend her women's bantamweight belt against Alexis Davis.
