That was fast.
Just a couple of days removed from his drubbing of Ruan Potts, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Soa Palelei has been booked to throw down against top division prospect Jared Rosholt at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 43 event in New Zealand, which is scheduled to take place on June 28, 2014, inside Auckland's Vector Arena.
UFC (via New Zealand Herald) announced the pending scrap earlier today.
Palelei (21-3) has been in cruise control for the better part of three years, racking up 11 straight wins including three in a row inside the Octagon. Prior to sleeping "Fangzz," the aging "Hulk" knocked out Pat Barry and secured a technical knockout finish over Nikita Krylov.
His opponent is no stranger to streaks.
Rosholt (10-1) has gone on a six-fight tear and scored back-to-back unanimous decision wins following last year's ZUFFA debut. "The Big Show" dropped the curtain on Walt Harris at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 Finale, before outpointing Daniel Omielanczuk at UFC in Abu Dhabi.
Who takes it?
UFC Fight Night 43 will be headlined by a middleweight match-up pitting local hero James Te Huna taking on longtime veteran Nate Marquardt. Elsewhere on the Fight Pass-exclusive card, TUF grads Dylan Andrews and Robert Whittaker, get busy inside the cage, as will featherweight hopefuls Hatsu Hioki and Charles Oliveira.
