Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight titleholder Cain Velasquez, as well as multilingual division number one contender Fabricio Werdum, will serve as head coaches. The first episode, featuring bantamweight (135 pounds) and featherweight (145 pounds) fighters, airs the week of August 18.
The announcement was made earlier today (April 29, 2014) in Mexico City, during a special media press conference emceed by UFC President Dana White, alongside television partners Jose Baston and Miguel Angel Fox Muller.
White also revealed that Velasquez would defend his heavyweight strap against "Vai Cavalo" in the main event of UFC 180, scheduled to take place on Nov. 15, 2014, in Mexico City.

Velasquez (13-1) hasn't defended his crown since a UFC 166 drubbing of Junior dos Santos, and is still recovering from shoulder surgery. Werdum (18-5-1) meanwhile, is fresh off a five-round shellacking over Travis Browne at the UFC on FOX 11 event earlier this month in Orlando (watch it).
TUF: "Latin America" will air on the UFC Network (via Televisa), the 24-hour subscription-based channel that covers the entire region (with the exception of Brazil). Stateside fans will likely be able to watch it on FOX Sports 1, or possibly online via the promotion's Fight Pass digital network.
UFC 180 is expected to air on pay-per-view (PPV).
As far as Velasquez vs. Werdum is concerned, we finally have the date and location ... now all we need is your prediction.
