We got flyweights, we got welterweights.
UFC 174: "Johnson vs. Bagautinov" takes place on June 14, 2014, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson will participate in the first-ever 125-pound championship main event fight in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) pay-per-view (PPV) history against Ali Bagautinov.
"Mighty Mouse" steps outside of the FOX limelight for the first time as champion, having defended his belt three times on the network television giant. His latest victory was a crushing first-round knockout over Joseph Benavidez in a rematch at UFC on FOX 9 in Dec. 2013.
Meanwhile, "Puncher" is on an 11-fight win streak, including three Octagon victories in a span of six months.
But, it was the Welterweight contenders who were both present at the pre-fight press conference earlier today, squaring off for photo opportunities to promote their pivotal co-main event match.
Hometown boy Rory MacDonald tries to earn 170-pound title shot against another hopeful, Tyron Woodley, with the winner possibly earning the opportunity to challenge division champion Johny Hendricks at a later date.
"Ares" is coming off a win over Demian Maia at UFC 170, while "The Chosen One" defeated Carlos Condit at UFC 171, a victory for which he seemingly doesn't get enough credit.
Nonetheless, check out the staredown pic between Rory MacDonald vs. Tyron Woodley below:
Bagautinov wasn't present at the presser, so instead, here's a pic of the well-groomed and stylish 125-pound champion:
