Streaking middleweight contender Yoel Romero defeated Brad Tavares on the main card of UFC on FOX 11: "Werdum vs. Browne" last night (Sat., April 19, 2014) inside the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, earning a unanimous decision victory after three dominant rounds.
Despite going to the scorecards for the first time in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, the "Soldier of God" was able to ragdoll the Hawaiian, thanks to his Olympic wrestling pedigree, and runs his Octagon winning streak to four straight.
He's not in line for a title shot just yet, but he's getting closer.
Expect Romero to be facing a top-10 opponent his next time out -- or perhaps top five -- as the crowded 185-pound division begins to work itself out.
I hear Tim Kennedy is available.
