Roy Nelson viciously knocked out Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the main event of today's (Fri., April 11, 2014) UFC Fight Night 39 showcase in Abu Dhabi. For all those who bothered to subscribe to UFC Fight Pass who witnessed this may very well have seen the last of the Brazilian legend, who, after over 40 career fights and pushing 38 years of age, should hang up his gloves for good. Technically, he was doing just fine but when he started taking punishment from an out of shape but less damaged fighter, his body simply couldn't stand up to the beating. Unfortunately, no one stepped in to stop the assault before Nogueira was brutally knocked out cold. He was wobbly after taking multiple hard shots to the head but allowed to continue despite appearing as though he was out on his feet. All it too was one more big punch in the right spot -- which was anywhere on the head at that point -- and the lights went out. It was hard to watch. Still it happened and there you go.
