UFC books events for Dublin, Ireland on July 19, Stockholm, Sweden on Oct. 4 and Istanbul, Turkey on Nov. 22

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continued to unveil more of its international expansion, recently announcing its return to Dublin, Ireland, for a mid-summer mixed martial arts (MMA) event on July 19, 2014. While no names have been attached to this upcoming card, I would expect to see hometown hero Conor McGregor in the discussion.

"Notorious" should be all patched up by then.

UFC hasn't been to Dublin since UFC 93, when Dan Henderson squeaked by Rich Franklin in the headlining act in a show that took place inside the O2 Arena on Jan. 17, 2009. "Shogun" Rua pounded out Mark Coleman in their co main event rematch.

That's not all.

A report from our friends at Kimura.se brings word from UFC international head cheese Garry Cook that ZUFFA will return to Stockholm, Sweden, on Oct. 4, 2014. What a great place to have Alexander Gustafsson rematch Jon Jones, assuming both fighters get through their next opponents.

Unfortunately, the chances of that happening are slim, as that kind of fight would undoubtedly headline a stateside pay-per-view (PPV).

The European tour is expected to conclude with a stop in Istanbul on Nov. 22, 2014, marking the first time UFC and its band of merry men will hold a combat sports event in Turkey, a frequent stop for GLORY kickboxing and its stand-up fighters.

Plenty of room for everyone!

UFC laid out an ambitious overseas fight campaign for 2014, one that begins this Saturday night (March 8, 2014) at UFC Fight Night 37 in London, England, and includes the recently-announced "Fight Night" event on May 31 in Berlin, Germany (details).

Probably as good a time as any to sign up for Fight Pass, especially now that the promotion is "exploring" a trip to Glasgow, Scotland, in 2015.
