Tyson Griffin didn't take too kindly to the fact that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones declined Daniel Cormier's challenge to a 205-pound championship fight.
In fact, the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) Lightweight contender took to his Twitter account to call out "Bones" after the champ downplayed "DC's" resume by saying that crushing "cans" such as Patrick Cummins didn't warrant shot at his belt.
According to Griffin, the "disrespectful" mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar should just fight Cormier and move on if he wants to call himself a true champion.
Check it out:
If you're a "champ" @JonnyBones you'd whoop @dc_mma and move on. He's a tougher test than your last two fights so just #embracethegrind

This 26 year old @JonnyBones thinks the names on @dc_mma record aren't top level? That is just disrespectful if you ask me.

The move drew the ire of Jones, who quickly responded Griffin via direct private message. But, don't worry, Griffin made sure Jones' hasty responses went public.

Interesting.
Jones is gearing up for his next title defense as he takes on Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 in April 26, 2014, in Baltimore, Maryland. Griffin, meanwhile, is looking to get back into the swing of things -- once his health allows -- after getting stopped by Gesias Cavalcante at WSOF last August.
With 50 pounds, several significant inches and a massive talent gap separating the pair, don't expect to see Jones and Griffin to ever throwdown in a sanctioned MMA match. Indeed, their beef will remain online, unless someone decides to take it offline.
