Yes, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has been banned in Brazil as well as in the state of Nevada, but that doesn't mean Chael Sonnen has to do without it.
Well, he at least has Wanderlei Silva's permission to stack up on the controversial treatment for their much-anticipated grudge match, which is set to go down on May 31, 2014, at a yet-to-be announced "Fight Night" event in Brazil.
See their staredown pic here.
According to the "Axe Murderer," he'll kick "The American Gangster's" ass regardless if he's on TRT or not. In fact, Silva says Sonnen can bring some TNT into the Octagon and it still won't make a bit of difference.
That's what Silva told MSN Esportes (via Bloody Elbow):
"Sonnen can use whatever he wants. For my sake, he can use TRT, even TNT. I will kick his ass anyway."
Quite the gesture on Silva's part.
Nonetheless, TRT is banned and Sonnen will have to make do without it when he meets his fellow Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3" coach inside the eight-walled cage (preview). Despite how "horrible" Sonnen's daily life is without the controversial treatment.
But will Chael's performance suffer come fight night? Assuming, of course, the bout happens at all.
