Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in action this weekend for its second straight Fight Pass-only mixed martial arts (MMA) event, headlined by light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson as he battles unbeaten up-and-comer Jimi Manuwa.

The action goes down this Saturday afternoon (March 8, 2014) inside the O2 Arena in London, England.

In addition to the headliner, this weekend's UFC event across the pond will feature a lightweight co-main event pitting veteran striker Melvin Guillard against former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 12 finalist Michael Johnson, while Brad Pickett battles Neil Seery in flyweight action.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 QUICK RESULTS:

Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa -- Gustafsson wins by TKO (strikes) at 1:18 of round two.
Melvin Guillard vs. Michael Johnson -- Johnson wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27x2)
Brad Pickett vs. Neil Seery -- Pickett wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27x2)
Omari Akhmedov vs. Gunnar Nelson -- Nelson wins by submission (guillotine choke) at 4:36 of round one.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 LIVE PLAY-BY-PLAY:

205 lbs.: Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa

Round 1: Manuwa opens up with a jab and low kicks. Gustafsson goes for a takedown and fights off Manuwa's guillotine. Gusty is in side control, trying to isolate the left arm. Gustafsson working a kimura, then a shoulder lock. Gustafsson is in Manuwa's guard for a while, yet he can't do much because the Englishman is defending well. Manuwa storms back up. Gusty goes for a takedown, but Manuwa catches him with a knee. Jab by Gusty, followed by some nice footwork.

Round 2: They take their time to engage in the second. Manuwa gets poked in the eye and the doc steps in for a few seconds. Good jabs by Gusty. Manuwa just misses with a huge right hand. Manuwa engages and presses forward, and Gustafsson rocks him with a humongous knee. Gusty lands some right uppercuts and Manuwa is down, hurt. Gusty lands some hammers and Goddard runs in. Gustafsson celebrates wildly.

Final results: Gustafsson wins by TKO (strikes) at 1:18 of round two.

155 lbs.: Melvin Guillard vs. Michael Johnson

Round 1: Johnson open with kicks. Guillard catches him with a nice left hand. Knee to Johnson's gut from Guillard. The action is halted after Johnson hits Guillard to the groin with his big toe. Guillard looks a lot more patient. Johnson storms in and nearly snuck in a clean left hook as Johnson moves away. Jab by Guillard. Front kick attempt by Guillard. Takedown attempt from Johnson. Guillard with a good combination. Johnson with some good pressure. They exchange but nothing lands for both. Guillard hasn't opened up yet. Guillard catches Johnson with a right hand, rocking Johnson and takes him down. They get back up immediately. Not much in terms of blows until the horn sounds.

Round 2: The round starts off slow. Both dudes are being very patient. A lot of missed strikes for both. Leg kicks working for Johnson. Shots to the body by Johnson. Uppercut attempt by Guillard, and he slips pressing forward. Really good head movement from both. Guillard tries to sneak that right uppercut in. Not much going on and Johnson urges Melvin to come forward with his hands. Johnson attempts a flying knee, but it doesn't work. Left hands start to land from Johnson and he wobbles Guillard. He took a knee to the chin, too, and another left he was falling down but he's back up and recovered.

Round 3: A good exchange opens up the third round and Johnson scores a takedown. Guillard gets back up and they get back in the center. Johnson pressing forward as Guillard back-peddles, landing a few jabs. Johnson crouches down to take a breather or something. The crowd boos and Johnson answers with a solid left hand, and an inside elbow as Guillard's back is against the fence. Guillard storms out and lands a good right hand. Johnson hits Guillard again with a left hook. Johnson nails Guillard again, and Guillard complains that he received an eye-poke. Johnson doesn't care and pounces on, but Guillard survives and complains some more. Guillard stays in there and trades with Johnson at the center. The fight ends and Guillard protests to Leon Roberts.

Final results: Johnson wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27x2)

125 lbs.: Brad Pickett vs. Neil Seery

Round 1: Pickett working the jab in his orthodox stance. Seery catches him with a right hand, and Pickett returns the favor with a left hook. Legkicks by Pickett. They exchange right hands, and Seery catches Pickett off-balance. Big right hand from Pickett. Left hook by Pickett, and an eye poke by Seery halts the action. Seery lands some good shots, but Pickett scoops him up and puts him on his back. Seery grabbing onto Pickett's arms in the guard. Pickett passes into half guard. Pickett is patient, and troubles Seery with an arm-triangle but Seery escapes. Seery gets back to his feet and they slug it out until the horn, with Seery landing a good left hand and Pickett landing a solid right.

Round 2: Solid jab by Pickett, and Seery lands a left hook. They exchange wildly, and both are taking big shots. Seery continuously landing those lefts. Pickett looking to land a left hook and Seery works to the body. Head kick attempt from Pickett. Pickett goes for the single-leg and drives his foe into the fence. Pickett secures the takedown. He stays busy from top position, but Seery is defending well.

Round 3: Pickett attacks with an uppercut. Seery lands a right hook and Seery runs off to shrug it off. Seery tries uppercuts of his own, and a great one-two staggers Pickett. They're exchanging violently, and an eye poke to Pickett stops the action. Another big punch by Seery, and he's pressing on. Pickett then rocks him backwards and they're slugging it out. Pickett goes for the takedown and slams Seery down. Pickett is stuck in half guard. Seery is pretty good off of his back. Seery tries to storm out and gets caught in a guillotine. He fights that off, brining the action to the center. Seery surges forward and Pickett is standing in front of him. Another big takedown from Pickett.

Final results: Pickett wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27x2)

170 lbs.: Omari Akhmedov vs. Gunnar Nelson

Round 1: Akhmedov comes out wildly ands starts hacking at Nelson's legs. Nelson's karate stance is out in full force. Akhmedov starts to swing wildly and Nelson starts to stalk him by closing distance. Takedown by Nelson, who gets into mount. He starts to throw a few elbows. He lands some pretty sharp right elbows to a downed Akhmedov who is trying to scramble out. Nelson maintaining positioning, looking immovable. Some more good elbows from Nelson. Akhmedov is opened up on the bridge of the nose. Nelson moves out and changes position by going for a guillotine. Akhmedov taps immediately.

Final results: Nelson wins by submission (guillotine choke) at 4:36 of round one.

185 lbs.: Cyrille Diabate vs. Ilir Latifi

Round 1: Both southpaws starting off slow, switching stances. Crowd is growing a bit restless, they haven't thrown any punches. Latifi shoots for the takedown and gets it easily. Latifi attacks with a d'arce choke, but let's it go. Latifi transitioning and then sinks in a guillotine choke. Latifi makes his way back to his feet without letting go. Latifi keeps on hanging onto the choke and Diabate looks all sorts of cranked. He taps ferociously. Latifi celebrates by smashing his own face into the Octagon map.

Final results: Latifi wins by submission (guillotine choke) at 3:02 of round one.

185 lbs.: Luke Barnatt vs. Mats Nilsson

Round 1: Barnett keeping his distance with jabs, and he's looking fast early with his combos. Barnatt throws a few kicks, and Nilsson lands a few good right hands. Uppercut followed by a left hook from Barnatt, and Nilsson is pushing forward with right hands. He has him moving backwards, but Barnatt recovers. Nilsson gets close and pressures Barnatt against the fence. Barnatt working well with his jabs, and Nilsson has swelling already around his right eye. Barnatt throws a head kick, and he's simply having fun with his striking -- landing his jab repeatedly and going for uppercuts. He rocks Nilsson with a big left head kick, and swarms him. Nilsson covering up and Barnatt unloading. Barnatt attacking, lands a knee to the head and Nilsson goes down. Marc Goddard storms in and it's over.

Final results: Luke Barnatt wins by TKO (strikes) at 4:24 of round one.

185 lbs.: Brad Scott vs. Claudio Henrique da Silva

Round 1: They both come out fast. Silva goes for a takedown and eats a pretty big right hand. He nixes that idea and goes back to trading on his feet. Silva goes high with the left leg and misses, but then secures the single-leg takedown. Scott making it difficult for him off of his back and gets back up to his feet. Back in the centre of the cage, Scott is staling Silva. Silva lands a solid left hook, followed by a right. Body shot from Scott. Accidental eye poke from Silva halts the bout. Huge headkick from Silva lands, ironically on the side of the muddied right eye. Takedown from Silva and he's content to stay there until the horn sounds.

Round 2: Capoeira kick misses by Silva who didn't look that committed anyway, however he staggers Scott with a right hand against the cage. They move back to the center and Scott lands some nice inside punches, followed by a big right hand. There's swelling under Silva's right eye. Silva working leg kicks, and another right hand lands for Scott. Scott hits Silva with a kick and Silva winces, calling for a break because it was low. The referee didn't see it and tells Scott to continue, who hesitates twice about attacking Silva -- who is literally walking backwards and not defending. What sportsmanship, my goodness. Silva ends up fighting again and Scott has him in trouble with a combination. Silva is crouching down and defending, pulling guard. Scott walks away and they resume in the center. Silva lands a good left hand to keep him in it. Shortly after, Scott is just pummelling the slowed down Silva , who is wearing the damage on his eye. Another capoeira attempt by Silva. Scott pushes Silva towards the fence and Scott throws a few kicks to the body for good measure when they break.

Round 3: Silva's right eye is looking pretty swollen. The Brazilian goes for a takedown, and Scott defends it. Scott lands a straight right hand that rocks Silva backwards. Scott gets poked in the eye again, this time the opposite eye and the doc steps in for a moment. Silva presses forward with urgency, landing a solid left hand. Silva works the takedown and brings Scott down to the mat. Silva climbs on Scott's back as the Brit stands, and threatens with a rear-naked choke. Ref calls for work and Silva rolls off. Scott gives up good positioning and Silva almost catches him in a kneebar. Silva wins up in side control and works from there for a while. Scott tires to get back up, but ends up in leglock attempt to close out the round.

Final results: Silva wins by unanimous decision (29-28x3)

170 lbs.: Igor Araujo vs. Danny Mitchell

Round 1: Araujo opens up with a missed headkick, and then tries a spinning kick. Mitchell defends the takedown, and after a scramble for positioning, Mitchell turns him over by threatening with an kimura. He's in top position working the ground and pound, and when he goes into side control, he makes the wrong move which allows Araujo to muscle through and get the reversal. Araujo is keeping him down, jostling for position. Araujo postures up and Mitchell is sloppily going for a leg lock. He ends up yanking on the heel and Araujo falls backwards. Mitchell shifts to a toehold and Araujo looks so unworried about all of this. Araujo scrambles out of a 50/50 position, and he starts to wear down Mitchell from top position with shots to the head. Mitchell makes it back up right when the round closes.

Round 2: Araujo opens up again with some flashy kicks, and Mitchell starts to connect with kicks of his own. Araujo fakes going high and secures the takedown. Araujo in side control and transitions to mount, keeping busy with short punches. Araujo moves into half guard, looking for a d'arce choke. He's not rushing it, so he goes back into Mitchell's guard. Mitchell scrambles out as Araujo goes for the back, and they're up against the fence and into the clinch. Mitchell goes for jumping triangle and fails, with Araujo back in his guard to close the round.

Round 3: They hug to commence the round. Mitchell pressing forward, mixing it up and going to the body. Mitchell goes for a single-leg, and Araujo has him pushed up against the fence. Araujo now going for the takedown and he pulls guard. He catches Mitchell in a triangle, and he's getting warnings for grabbing the cage since it's assisting the choke. Mitchell looks patient but he's still caught in there. Araujo with elbows to the head. Araujo with an omoplata attempt, and Mitchell works out of it. Mitchell looks for a heel hook as they are tied together, but Araujo works out of it easily. They're both landing short punches, and then they start to land wild and sloppy hammerfists on each other as they are tied up. Somewhat ridiculous, to be honest.

Final results: Araujo wins by unanimous decision (30-27x3)

125 lbs.: Louis Gaudinot vs. Phil Harris

Round 1: Gaudinot is pressing forward with jabs. Harris goes for a single-leg and pins Gaudinot up against the cage. Gaudinot is flirting with a guillotine, and postures up on Harris by wrapping his legs around him. Harris is caught in the choke, and Gaudinot brings him down. Harris somersaults on his back and he's on his back. Harris taps and Gaudinot is ecstatic.

Final results: Gaudinot wins by submission (guillotine choke) at 1:13 of round of one.
