This probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone.
Less than 48 hours after he was yanked from the Metamoris 3 jiu-jitsu pay-per-view (PPV), grappling super-stud Vinny Magalhaes has also been bounced from his Titan FC 28 main event opposite Jason Brilz, which was expected to go down on April 25, 2014, in Kansas City.
"Pezao" is currently battling Staph infection.
"Vinny is out of Titan 28 main event," Titan FC President and CEO Jeff Aronson told MMA Fighting. "He's in the hospital on antibiotics. A replacement is being sought as I text this. My phone has been ringing off the hook since Vinny had to back out of Metamoris. No opponent for Brilz yet."
See the unsettling pics of Vinny's infection here and here.
Magalhaes (10-7, 1 NC) was released from his UFC contract following back-to-back losses to Phil Davis at UFC 159 and most recently, Anthony Perosh at UFC 163. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizard was also the 205-pound champion under the M-1 banner, but had a bit of a falling out that ended with his belt up for sale on Ebay (seriously).
But his return to the airwaves has been put on hold ... for now.
