He's back!
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Jeff Monson will try his damnedest to snap a four-fight losing streak when he takes on Chaban Ka in the co-main event of M-1 Challenge 47: "Battle in the Heart of the Continent," airing free worldwide on M-1Global.tv, live from inside Orenburgzhe Sport Hall in Orenburgh, Russia, on April 4, 2014.
Their upcoming bout serves as a rematch from their 2012 draw in Paris, France.
The 43-year old Monson (49-17) could be the busiest fighter in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), averaging five-to-six bouts per year. Unfortunately, "The Snowman" hasn't been victorious since Drazen Forgac broke his arm last year at SHC 7 in Geneva.
No time like the present.
Opposing him is Ka (6-3-1) who has yet to record a knockout or technical knockout, but does have a solid grappling pedigree. He'll need it, too, considering Monson is a talented ground fighter with experience in Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC). The Frenchman has been finished in his previous two fights.
Did I mention it's free?
M-1 Challenge 47, headlined by a featherweight scrap pitting Marat Gafurov vs. Lee Morrison, will also be broadcast live on Russia 2, the terrestrial channel, throughout Russia and the Commonwealth of Individual States (CIS), as well as across the Middle East on Abu Dhabi Sports Channels.
Here's a sneak peek:
So ... who's tuning in?
