UFC Fight Night 38 results: Rony Jason knocks out Steven Siler

Rony Jason gets the knockout victory over Steven Siler but not without some controversy.

The main card of tonight's (Sun., Mar. 23, 2014) UFC Fight Night 38: "Henderson vs. Shogun 2" event from Natal, Brazil, featured featherweight Ultimate Fighter winner Rony Jason taking on Steven Siler. Both were looking to bounce back from a loss in their most recent fights.

Well, congratulations to Jason.

It didn't take him long to tare care of business. Early in the first round, the Brazilian banger landed a monster overhand right hand that had Siler leaning to the side. Jason followed up with a big left hook that planted the American, and that was all the referee needed to see to call a stop to the proceedings.

There's just one problems: Siler was intelligently defending when the stoppage was called.

Actually, he was generating offense. As soon as he fell to his back after the left hook caught him, he fired off an upkick to keep Jason at bay so he could regroup. For his part, Jason stayed back but it didn't matter because the referee was already waving it off.

Siler loudly complained to anyone who would listen but even if he has a great argument, this one is a mark in the loss column.

Sorry!
