Bellator is back with its fourth event of season 10, featuring a light heavyweight championship clash in the main event.

Bellator 113: "Vegh vs. Newton" takes place TONIGHT (Fri., March 21, 2014) on Spike TV, live from Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.

Bellator interim light heavyweight champion Emanuel Newton will be looking to unify his belt and be known as the sole 205-pound titleholder in the promotion as he takes on current champion Attila Vegh.

Newton defeated Muhammed Lawal for the second time at Bellator 106 to earn the tag, while Vegh was apparently nursing an injury he did not have.

Vegh won the title back at Bellator 91 with a victory over Christian M'Pumbu.

Also on deck is the opening round of the lightweight tournament, with Patricky "Pitbull" Freire against David Rickels in the co-main event.

Attila Vegh vs. Emanuel Newton -- Newton wins by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 49-46)

Patricky Freire vs. David Rickels -- Freire wins by knockout (strikes) of 0:54 of round two.

Rodrigo Cavalheiro vs. Marcin Held -- Held wins by submission (toehold) at 1:56 of round one.

Derek Campos vs. Tim Welch -- Campos wins by unanimous decision (30-27x3)

Derek Anderson vs. Brandon Girtz -- Anderson wins by knockout (strike) 0:23 of round two.

BELLATOR 113 LIVE PLAY-BY-PLAY

205 lbs.: Attila Vegh vs. Emanuel Newton

Round 1: Newton tries to attack the legs early with kicks. A few jab attempts from Newton, who catches Vegh with a straight right. Both are slow to commence the action, with a spinning back kick from Newton that lands on the thigh. Newton hacking at the legs, and Vegh can't connect with anything yet. Spinning head kick attempt from Newton. Vegh drills him with a kick to the body, and moves forward, but Newton survives the flurry. Newton switches stances, and Vegh locks him up and tries to land some knees in the clinch. They break free, with Newton still going for the legs. Vegh lands a nice, short right hand. Vegh not checking the leg kicks. Uppercut from Vegh, answered with a right hand by Newton. The latter shoots for a takedown, but the round ends with some clinch work against the cage.

Round 2: Some more spinning attacks from Newton, just to keep Vegh at bay. Vegh goes to the body, and Newton does a good job again of avoided the flurry. Vegh looking to brawl every time he catches Newton with something. Vegh with a nice left hand. Newton switching stances, and ties up Vegh against the cage. Hit to the jewels from Newton, so the action stops momentarily. Newton works the single leg, and he's got Vegh's back, looking for the throw. Newton working for the takedown, and Vegh storms away. Spinning kick attempt from Newton, again. Left hook misses from Vegh. Newton working the jab, and his movement is great -- mixing it up with kicks and jabs. He eats an uppercut from Vegh, but he walks right through it. He ties up Vegh against the cage in a body lock. Vegh breaks free and steps forward aggressively. He can't land anything to make the difference at the end of the second.

Round 3: Both are patient in the third round. Newton comes in with a left uppercut, followed by a right hand that lands. Newton has landed just over seven times as many kicks at Vegh. The crowd growing a bit restless with this fight. Kick to the leg by Newton. Left hook from Newton. Vegh is not pulling the trigger whatsoever, looking more like a punching bag than anything. Uppercut lands from Vegh, and now he's going after it. He lands a nice knee, followed by a stiff left hand, but Newton is countering back. Newton with a solid right, but Vegh is engaging a little more. Newton is cut on the bridge of his nose. Newton following Vegh around the cage, and Vegh decks him with a solid uppercut. Vegh lands a good kick to the body, followed by a left hand.

Round 4: Newton tries to tie Vegh up, but no avail. Vegh answers with a good kick. Nice jab from Vegh, and Newton responds. Head kick misses by Newton. Newton goes for the takedown. They're up against the fence, and Vegh moves away. They're extra slow in round three. Vegh's jabs are much better, and he's picking up steam as Newton is slowing down. Nice uppercut from Newton. Nice jab from Vegh. Newton with a jab, and Vegh catches him with a right hand. Newton tries another spinning head kick. Vegh circling away as Newton comes forward, and Vegh attacks with a takedown. He doesn't get it, and the crowd boos heavily once the bell sounds.

Round 5: Both fighters going for it in the fifth round, with Newton pressing aggressively. Newton attacks with a takedown, but he doesn't get it. Newton lets go, and Vegh meets him in the center, ready to exchange. Nice right hand from Newton. Punch to the body from Newton, who ties up Vegh against the cage. Newton circling, and Vegh, exhausted, goes for the takedown. Newton stuffs it, and they engage in a sloppy exchange. Nice uppercut from Vegh. Swing and a miss from Vegh, and Newton goes for another takedown. Vegh with a right hand, and Newton goes for the takedown to end the fight. They end it on the feet.

Final results: Newton wins by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 49-46)

155 lbs.: Patricky Freire vs. David Rickels

Round 1: Freire tries to throw first, and Rickels follows with a head kick attempt. Freire catches him on the inside with a good right hand. Rickels ties him up, and lands a few punches. Rickels is more active, but Freire is staying patient and doing a good job of defending. Freire hits Rickels with a hard right hand. Freire catches a kick to the body, and he counters with a nice short, right hand. Freire goes to the body, and blasts Rickels again with a counter right. Push kick from Rickels. Rickels storms forward with a combo, but Freire hits him with a big uppercut that slows down Rickels. They're tied up against the cage. Freire attacks, but Rickels returns the favor with some dirty boxing. Rickels tries to shift levels, going for the takedown and then he lets go by unleashing a head kick which doesn't go through. Superman punch blocked from Freire, and he scores an inside trip to send Rickels down. Elbows to the shoulder and some ear slaps from Rickels off of his back.

Round 2: Rickels tries to land a head kick, while Freire attempts a spinning kick. Freire blasts Rickels with a counter left hand that hurt him bad, and as Rickels comes forward to regain his composure, Freire nails him with a brutal left hand, followed by a combo, to finish the fight. Yikes.

Final results: Freire wins by knockout (strikes) of 0:54 of round two.

155 lbs.: Rodrigo Cavalheiro vs. Marcin Held

Round 1: Cavalheiro and Held start coming at each other ferociously, with Held scoring the takedown first. Cavalheiro is hanging onto his arms, and Held is trying to stand up. Held catches him in a heel hook, and he's hanging on to it. Held transitions to a toehold, and that does it for this clash.

Final Results: Held wins by submission (toehold) at 1:56 of round one.

155 lbs.: Derek Campos vs. Tim Welch

Round 1: Both fighters are coming out orthodox. Campos working the jab early. He misses a spinning kick. Overhead right misses from Welch, and Campos lands a big uppercut. Uppercut followed by a right hand from Welch. Nice left hand from Welch. Jab from Campos. Left hand lands for Campos, who rocks Welch off-balance. Nice left hook from Campos. Welch keeps on circling and he can't really land anything damaging, while Campos is playing around with angles. Overhead right misses from Welch. Spinning back kick misses by Campos. Good jab from Campos, Welch loses his mouthpiece in the process. Campos really chasing him down now. Nice, powerful straight left from Welch. Campos with a combo, and he's really cutting off the cage well. He storms in with a right down the center in the dying seconds, with Welch throwing a kick and slips.

Round 2: Nice left hook from Campos to open things up. Welch with a snapping jab that lands. Head kick from Campos is defending well by Welch. Campos blasts Welch with a right hand, and the latter is wobbly. Campos blazes in, but Welch defended well. They clinched up, and Campos took him down. He's working an arm-triangle now, but he can't pass from half guard. He steps over to his right, with the cage in his way and Campos lets it go. Welch makes his way back up to his feet. We get a short break for Welch's mouthpiece which fell out again. Uppercut just misses from Campos. They tie up and Campos hits him with knees to the midsection. Superman punch just misses from Welch. Nice hook from Welch. Campos still cutting off the cage, threatening with jabs. Nice right hand from Welch, but Campos comes forward with a straight left, followed by a takedown. The bell sounds shortly after.

Round 3: Takedown from Campos to get us going in the third. He's in half guard, trying to look for the arm-triangle again. Welch makes it up to his feet, and Welch takes a bit of a tumble off-balance. Campos joins him on the mat, and he's working a near-side cradle. He goes back into half guard, smothering Welch. He's trying to go for that arm-triangle, and then decides to smash Welch's head in with some big left hands. He's completely controlling his posture, and he begins to scramble with Welch, who ends up on top to close out the fight.

Final results: Campos wins by unanimous decision (30-27x3)
