Cub Swanson vs Jeremy Stephens headlines UFC 'Fight Night' event on June 28 in San Antonio, Texas

Which means fight fans can expect five rounds of fireworks in "The Lone Star State."

USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has booked a five-round featherweight headliner for its upcoming UFC "Fight Night" mixed martial arts (MMA) event on June 28, 2014, inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, in the form of top 145-pound contenders Cub Swanson vs. Jeremy Stephens.

FOX Sports revealed the booking earlier today.

Swanson (20-5) has been clamoring for a featherweight title shot after compiling an impressive five-fight winning streak, one that includes knockouts over Ross Pearson and Dennis Siver, among others. While he's not getting his hands on the gold just yet, he's at least in a fan-friendly fight.

Two guys with a love for heavy leather.

Like his "River City" opponent, Stephens (23-9) has been tearing up the 145-pound division, stringing together three straight wins after dropping down from lightweight. "Lil' Heathen" was last seen outworking Darren Elkins at UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago.

Don't blink!

No other bouts have been announced for the "Fight Night" event in San Antonio, which is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 and Fight Pass; however, additional pairings are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, let's get some early predictions on this featherweight slugfest. And is it main event worthy?
