Steve Bosse retires from MMA one month after signing with UFC

Easy come, easy go.

That was fast.

One month after inking a deal with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to fight Ryan Jimmo at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Nations" live finale, which takes place on April 16, 2014 inside Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City, Canada, on FOX Sports 1, Steve Bosse has retired from mixed martial arts (MMA).

"The Boss" actually withdrew from his "Big Deal" bout last week, citing injury, but told LaPresse (via MMA Fighting) that he won't be coming back.

"My body is talking to me. It's time that I make the right decision. When I started in hockey, I had rage in me. This sport helped me channel that. It was my therapy. Today, that rage is no longer in me. Today, I'm doing well. I don't feel the need to fight anymore, to go make war."

Former TUF 8 contestant Sean O'Connell has agreed to take over and fight Jimmo.

The former hockey player will try his hand at firefighting and finishes his MMA career on the strength of an eight-fight winning streak -- 10-1 overall -- but hasn't competed since the doctor waved off Caleb Grummet at Challenge MMA 1: "Sensations" back in May 2013.

Bye bye Bosse ... we hardly knew ye' ...
