Video: Johny Hendricks makes weight, UFC 171 title fight official

Breathe easy, fight fans, there will be a title fight at UFC 171 tomorrow night (March 15, 2014) in Dallas, Texas, as Johny Hendricks hit the 170-pound mark on his second attempt.

"Bigg Rigg" initially came in 1.5 pounds over the required mark during today's (March 14, 2014) weigh-ins (video), putting his -- and only his --  title hopes in jeopardy. Had Hendricks failed to hit the mark on the second attempt, he wouldn't have been eligible to win the welterweight title.

However, Lawler wouldn't have been penalized for Johny's transgression, as he would have been crowned the new division champ with a win.

Nevertheless, both men now have the same incentive going in to tomorrow night's much-anticipated 170-pound title fight and Hendrick's likely saved himself from drawing the ire of the Zuffa higher-ups.

And perhaps a bevy of boo-birds.
