Johny Hendricks misses weight by 1.5 pounds, UFC 171 title fight in jeopardy

This could be disastrous for "Bigg Rigg."

***UPDATE: Hendricks did make weight -- Read full details here.***

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler -- which goes down tomorrow night (March 15, 2014) in Dallas, Texas at UFC 171 -- has hit a major speed bump.

"Bigg Rigg" failed to hit the required 170 mark during today's (March 14, 2014)  UFC 171 weigh-ins (catch the video replay here), tipping the scales at 171.5 pounds.

For his part, the other half of the championship fight, Robbie Lawler, hit the mark with no problems.

Hendricks now has a little less than two hours to shed the extra 1.5 pounds. Should he fail to do so, Johny won't be awarded the title should he defeat "Ruthless" according to MMA Junkie. He will also likely have to fork some of his fight purse over to Lawler.

However, in an interesting twist, Lawler will still be fighting for the belt, as he will be crowned the champ should he prove victorious.

"Bigg Rigg" has his work cut out for him if he doesn't want to get on Dana White and Co.'s bad side.

Keep it tuned to MMAmania.com to see if Hendricks was able to hit the mark on his second attempt.
