The official weigh-in event for UFC 171: "Hendricks vs. Lawler" took place today (Fri., March 14, 2014) LIVE from The Gilley's Jack Daniel's Saloon in Dallas, Texas.
Shockingly enough, event headliner Johny Hendricks came in 1.5 pounds over the 170-pound limit for his title fight against Robbie Lawler. Because it is a title fight, he'll need to get down to 170 exactly to make it official.
Two preliminary card fighters also missed weight, as both Kelvin Gastelum and Renee Forte came in heavy for their respective bouts. They'll have some extra time to lose the additional poundage to avoid a fine.
UFC 171 will feature the vacant welterweight title finding its way to someone's shoulder after a headliner contested between top division power punchers Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler.

Don't be surprised if we leave the pay-per-view (PPV) event with a new number one contender as well, as ex-interim champ Carlos Condit gets down and dirty with Tyron Woodley, while longtime veterans Jake Shields and Hector Lombard hook 'em up for their spot in the pecking order.
