Looks like that potential showdown against Ben Askren is going to be put on hold.
At least for the time being.
Following a 1-2 record for ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC), one that ended with a horrific ankle injury (see the GIF here) against Nobutatsu Suzuki nearly one year ago, Baroni (15-17) will add Bellator MMA to the long list of promotions he has called home at one time or another.
A list that includes PRIDE FC, EliteXC, UFC, and Strikeforce, among others. "The New York Bad Ass" announced the upcoming move earlier today on his Twitter account.
Baroni is expected to appear at Spike TV's Bellator 118 event on May 2, 2014, inside Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on a card that also features longtime veteran Joe Warren. No opponent has been announced at this time, though you can expect a name to be forthcoming in the next few days.
Stay tuned.
