TUF Brazil 3: Fighter who attacked Chael Sonnen thrown off the show and 'ought to be arrested'

A lot of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans were convinced the shoving match between Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3" coaches Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen (see it here), was staged to help push Fight Pass subscriptions, since this season is only available on the promotion's new digital network.

Apparently their scuffle was legit.

Either that, or not everyone on Team Silva got the memo, since one fighter -- or perhaps even a coach -- took a few liberties with Sonnen's unsuspecting dome. As a result, the mystery attacker (rumored to be Andre Didas) was thrown off the show.

From Sonnen's conversation with Michael Landsberg via Off the Record:

"I'm not positive on the name, I never met the gentleman. I never did, and after the whole thing happened, he got thrown out. You know, and to quote Dana White... Dana White told him he ought to be arrested. But, I never did meet him. I'm not sure."

Sonnen and Silva were originally paired off in the co-main event of UFC 173 over Memorial Day Weekend; however, their light heavyweight rumble was since shifted to an unnamed fight card in Brazil on May 31, 2014. That's assuming Sonnen can still fight after the recent ban on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

Time will tell.

Meanwhile, Silva is already starting to fire himself up for their eventual showdown, recently releasing a video (watch it here) explaining all the evil things his opposing coach did during their time on set and how justice will be served later this year.

Until then...
