The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "China" Finale, from the CotaiArena in Macau, China, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 16 fighters on the card. And it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
Errrr... pump the brakes. This is where I remind you the bonus structure has changed since these were last handed out. "Fight of the Night" will still be awarded but the best knockout and submission will no earn any extra cash. Instead, there will be two "Performance of the Night" awards dished out.
Got it? Good.
Today, the performance bonuses went to Dong Hyun Kim, for his absolutely stunning spinning back elbow knockout of John Hathaway in the main event, and Matt Mitrione, for his awesome stoppage of Shawn Jordan just before the first round horn sounded in their heavyweight showcase.
The thrilling Yui Chul Nam vs. Kazuki Tokudome bout, which saw the former earn a close split decision victory over the latter, won "Fight of the Night" honors.
Here are the special TUF: "China" Finale bonuses:
Performance of the Night -- Dong Hyun Kim
Performance of the Night -- Matt Mitrione
Fight of the Night -- Yui Chul Nam vs. Kazuki Tokudome
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
