TUF China Finale results: Dong Hyun Kim knocks out John Hathaway with spinning back elbow

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS THE SICKEST KNOCKOUT.

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

In the main event of today's (Sat., Mar. 1, 2014) The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) China Finale from the CotaiArena in Macau, China, John Hathaway made his return to the Octagon after almost a year and a half away to take on streaking "Stun Gun," Dong Hyun Kim.

Both entered on three-fight win streaks.

They got things started nice and early by exchanging big punches and knees. Actually, Kim came out firing hard and landing clean, putting the Brit on wobbly legs nice and early, enough so that Hathaway was force to clinch up and grapple.

This was great.

After a takedown yielded nothing, Kim got back to his feet and kept firing away. Hathaway, to his credit, survived all this while appearing on the verge of getting stopped at all times. Later in the first, "Stun Gun" would score a knockdown with his aggressive attack and again come close to finishing the job.

But, again, "The Hitman" would not go away.

That was all in the first round!

Hathaway found some success in the second, scoring with some big shots of his own but by the end of the frame, Kim had regained his fire and popped his foe with a few good fists.

Then, in the third, it happened.

Kim exploded with a nasty spinning back elbow that absolutely destroyed Hathaway. Like, put him down on the mat knocked out cold. Kim jumped the cage to celebrate in the crowd before jumping back in and doing flips around the cage. Meanwhile, Hathaway was still completely out.

It was devastating.

It was also quite possibly one of the best knockouts in UFC history.
