Latest UFC rankings/MMA rankings (pound-for-pound), Feb. 2014

Now that the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared in the wake of UFC 169: "Barao vs. Faber 2," the SB Nation crew has tallied the votes and come up with the 10 best pound-for-pound fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA) today. Have a look.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Well, hello, Renan Barao.

It's time again for the great pound-for-pound mixed martial arts (MMA) rankings debate, which is perhaps the most divisive because there is no way to truly validate them unless "super" fights are booked between stars who can compete above or below their respective weight classes.

And that doesn't seem to ever happen ... even though we're seemingly closer than ever before.

Therefore, we pretend what would happen if the best in the sport were all the same size, which is pretty dumb (but also fun) to compile the official pound-for-pound rankings.

The biggest move is clearly Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight champion, Barao, who licked Faber for a second time en route to another impressive (albeit controversial) technical knockout finish. Indeed, a 32-fight win streak -- and the undisputed 135-pound crown -- is finally earning the talented Brazilian some well-deserved respect among his contemporaries.

Of course. Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones maintains the top spot, with 145-pound powerhouse Jose Aldo holding strong in the No. 2 position. No dramatic movement otherwise, with Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez sliding a spot thanks to his inactivity and Barao's brilliance.

The SB Nation panel -- compiled by MMA Mania, MMA Fighting and Bloody Elbow -- recently sifted through the Top 10 pound-for-pound fighters for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and beyond.

Here is what happened:

Anyone think the Barao bump is unwarranted or should he be even higher because of his finishing ability?
